Autogenerated tasks, spawned by periodic scheduled tasks, do not seem to inherit the priority of the parent scheduled task. Which I’d like them to do. Am I missing anything, or is it a current limitation?

Yes, currently GTDNext is not designed to inherit the priorities of the parent task.
We’ve heard a few people ask for that, but it does not seem to be unanimous.
